Paws and Claws Pet Sitting Policies
PAYMENT
- Payments for walking or sitting services are to be paid in full at the time of booking or on the first day services begin.
- If payment is not received by the time of service, a $25.00 late fee WILL be added to your invoice and pet sitting will NOT resume until we reach you and a payment is made.
- Paws and Claws Pet Sitting accepts checks, cash, and secure online payments through the Client Portal.
- There will be a $35.00 charge for all returned checks.
- If the Client requests to extend the service, the Client guarantees payment at the same rate for all services provided upon return.
TIPPING
- If you wish to tip the Pet Sitter, please write a separate check in the Pet Sitter’s name or leave cash for your Sitter.
CANCELLATIONS & EARLY RETURNS
- We do not offer refunds for cancellations/early returns.
- More than a 24-hour notice, and you will receive a credit on your account.
- Less than a 24-hour notice, and you will be charged for the remainder of the visits on that day and credited for the rest of your visits.
SAME DAY SERVICE REQUESTS
- All same-day service requests will be charged a $10 same day fee.
EXTRA FEES & CHARGES
- Paws and Claws Pet Sitting reserves the right to invoice/bill, at $15.00 per half hour or any portion thereof, for additional time spent over a 30-minute visit that is necessary for the care of Client’s pet(s) and home. This includes service and time for the following, but not limited to: all veterinary trips; pet illness; excessive clean-up resulting from pet incontinence, accidents or frequent vomiting; complications administering medications; obtaining pet food, medication or supplies; wait time for emergency home repair; search for pet(s) that escaped confinement or leash. The client will be held responsible for all expenses incurred and reimburse Paws and Claws Pet Sitting upon return.
EMERGENCY CARE
- In the event of pet illness or other medical emergency and specified vet is unavailable, pet will be taken to closest vet or Vet-I-Care Emergency Clinic.
- Client understands and agrees that attempts will be made to contact the Client in case of emergency and if Client is unreachable, Pet Sitter has permission to authorize any care the vet deems necessary for pet’s health, safety and survival.
- Client agrees to reimburse Paws and Claws Pet Sitting for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence, which may include x-rays, blood work, surgery and/or other expensive procedures, as well as an emergency medical transport fee of $35.00.
- For the safety of your pet and others, pets must have current vaccinations.
- Should a Pet Sitter be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from the Client’s animal, which has not been properly vaccinated, it will be the Client’s responsibility to pay all costs and damages incurred by the victim.
JOB SHARING
- Paws and Claws Pet Sitting PROHIBITS sharing pet sitting duties with other sitters, friends, family, neighbors, etc.
- This is for the protection of your pets, your home, and the liability of Paws and Claws Pet Sitting.
- If another person(s) are in the home at any point during your time away, ALL terms and conditions will be terminated, the remainder of visits canceled, and NO REFUNDS given.
- If there are special circumstances, these will need to be discussed prior to Paws and Claws Pet Sitting taking the assignment.
- Paws and Claws Pet Sitting reserves the right to discontinue services if the sitter is not comfortable sharing.
KEY POLICY
- A lockbox with your house key (please test to make sure it works) must be accessible to the sitter at the front of the home.
- Make sure it is in a place where we can access it easily during bad weather and in the dark.
- Regardless of having a keypad, garage code, e-key, etc., there must be a key available to us in case one of the electronic entrances fails.
- If you live in a gated community, you must provide a gate card, remote, or appropriate access codes. No exceptions unless the community doesn’t allow them.
HOLIDAY POLICIES & CHARGES
- Holidays: There is a one-time $20 holiday charge for the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Post Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
- Cancellations: must be made two weeks prior to the first visit, or a payment for 25% of the invoice will be required. Cancellations one week prior to first visit a payment for 50% of the invoice will be required.
- Cancellations less than one week’s notice require full payment.
- No refunds or credits for early returns during the holidays.
- Limited Services: We will ONLY be able to provide 15 and 30-minute visits during Spring, Summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Breaks. The dates will coincide with the school calendar.
- There will be exceptions for pets with special needs, such as medications, elderly pets (incontinence issues), or extended jobs (i.e.,>4 pets requiring more time for cleaning up, litter boxes, separate walks, etc.). These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
- Unfortunately, we have many clients to attend to during these busy times.
Terms & Conditions
Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, Paws and Claws Pet Sitting and Pet Sitters cannot be held responsible for any unusual mishaps (i.e., pet’s refusal to take medication, escaping from the yard, biting, eating or destroying household items, damage to inside/outside of home, personal injury/accidental death).
If Client requests pet(s) to have outside access, Client releases Paws and Claws Pet Sitting and Pet Sitters from all liability for loss, injury or death to pet(s). Client is liable for injury or damage to Third Parties.
Client authorizes Paws and Claws Pet Sitting Pet Sitters to take photos of Client’s pet for their file and for paws-n-clawspetsitting.com website. All photos taken are the property of Paws and Claws Pet Sitting, Inc.
Visit times are approximate and subject to change based on the needs of all pets under the Pet Sitter’s care. Pet Sitter is entrusted to use best judgment in caring for pet(s) and home, in the event of an emergency situation, inclement weather, or natural disaster. Paws and Claws Pet Sitting and Pet Sitters will be held harmless for consequences related to such decisions.
In the event of injury or illness of your Pet Sitter, or other emergency circumstances where duties are unable to be performed, Client authorizes Paws and Claws Pet Sitting to arrange for a back-up sitter to take over duties as outlined in this agreement.
Paws and Claws Pet Sitting reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time before or during its term if the Pet Sitter determines the Client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of herself/himself or others.
If concerns prohibit the Pet Sitter from caring for the pet, the Client authorizes the pet to be placed in a kennel, with all charges to be charged to the Client.
Paws and Claws Pet Sitting and Pet Sitters agree to provide the services stated in this agreement in a reliable, caring, and trustworthy manner.
In consideration of these services, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Paws and Claws Pet Sitting except those arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Paws and Claws Pet Sitting or Pet Sitters.
